Our rare Antique Distressed® American Chestnut flooring is made from barn siding and other weathered barn wood. Planks have a distinctive grain pattern and range in color from medium honey to dark chocolate and contain evidence of their age and their former life including circular sawcut marks, blackened nail holes, insect marks, weathered cracks and a lot of patina.  An Aged Woods® Antique Distressed® American Chestnut floor is uniquely beautiful with maximum character and maximum patina.

Due to a blight, this species went extinct in the beginning of the 20th century. Efforts are under way to revive it by hybridizing, but reclaiming is the only source for authentic American Chestnut, Castenea Dentata.
