SAMPLES
Samples are available to specifiers on a per-project basis at no charge. We might try to narrow your sample request down to three different samples as each sample consists of at least three individual planks ALL representing ONE sample. Please keep all of the pieces together. If you show them to someone else, make sure that they understand that ALL of the planks together are ONE sample. Due to the weathering and aging processes there is a lot of natural variation in the color and character of our products and this is our way of demonstrating that fact. Did we mention that the multiple planks we send represent ONE sample?
People who are new to recycled wood should understand that there are holes(!) and cracks(!!) in our planks. Nevertheless, a properly installed and finished Aged Woods® floor is very safe and sound.
For presentation purposes, our samples are sanded, finished with a very basic finish before labeling. Level of sheen and depth of finish are controlled by the finish applied on site after installation. For those wishing to experiment with different finishes, unfinished samples are available. Accompanying our samples is technical information that will aid you in understanding our products and how to successfully incorporate them into your design.
